"After suffering simultaneous detached retinas in both eyes, I was blessed to have Dr. Raghu Murthy perfom both vitrectomy operations. Recovery from vitrectomy surgery isn't easy, but with Dr. Murthy's help, I came through it. He is a compassionate doctor who sees the whole patient, and not just a technical problem to be solved. During recovery, I was seen by another doctor who was impressed with the neatness, as he said, of Dr. Murthy's surgical work. It may be a small thing, but it shows the care that he takes with his patients. I have met many ophthalmologists in Southern California, but I don't know of any who show the empathy with the patient that Dr. Murthy does. Because of this, I carry his cards in my billfold, and give them to anyone I hear discussing a vision problem.
There are sometimes setbacks and disappointments when dealing with something as delicate, complicated and crucial as one's eyes, but after being under Dr.Murthy's care for several years now, I do not trust my vision to anyone else. If you are reading this, it probably means that you or a loved one is facing a crisis; I urge you to see Dr. Murthy as soon as you can."

"The best thing that has ever happened to me was
meeting Dr. Murthy and his wonderful staff! Previously,
I was a loyal patient from Kaiser and I was told that
my eye condition was never going to improve. I went back
and forth from doctor to doctor and was given several
treatments but none seemed to help. So one day I was referred
to Dr. Murthy and everything changed from then on. I am
now being treated properly for my condition. I could not

"I had a lens implant surgery in 2001 at Kaiser. There
were some complications with lens placement and it caused
repeated inflammation, pain and cornea damage. I did not
realize why this was happening. I came to Dr. Murthy when
someone poked a finger in my eye and displaced the lens.
I started to see double and the pain started to get worse.
Dr. Murthy was the first person who was able to explain
my condition to me in words that I could understand. He
was able to correct the condition with a surgery. Everything
has been perfect since then, and I am very happy and pleased
that my pain has gone away and my vision is crystal clear.
I would recommend anybody with eye problems to go Dr. Murthy.
I am a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff and having as perfect
vision as possible is imperative for the type of job that

"I am a practicing Emergency Medicine doctor at the
mid point of my career and still plan on working for at
least the next 20 years. More importantly to me personally,
I am an avid reader and travel frequently for pleasure.
All these things require good vision. I first saw Dr.
Murthy after having a torn retina as a complication of
an unrelated eye surgery. He did an excellent job in the
retina surgery itself as well as was very attentive and
truly concerned in the required follow up. His wonderful
work allowed me to continue working, reading and traveling
myself. It truly saved my career and my ability to do
some of my favorite things.
As an Emergency Physician, I have no hesitation calling
him for patients who I see with similar problems and he
is always glad to help them as well. He has an excellent

"Couple of years ago, days prior to relocating
to the East coast, I sustained a serious eye injury
and was EXTREMELY fortunate that Dr. Murthy was the
Retinal Surgeon on call at the hospital. Dr. Murthy
opened his office early on Sunday morning to see me
and spent the entire morning/afternoon repairing my
eye injury. The possibility of losing my vision was
a very scary situation and Dr. Murthy not only saved
my eye but was a compassionate person who truly cared
